With more than 25 years in the investment industry, Ernest “Ernie” Smith is NewSong’s lead retirement plan specialist, leading organizations of all sizes through building, implementing, and managing custom retirement benefit plans tailored to their unique business. In addition, Ernest assists executives and employees alike with their personal retirement plans, building individual roadmaps to help them achieve their retirement goals. Ernest holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, which has granted him highly specialized insight into what it takes to balance the needs of a business with those of its employees. Outside of work, Ernest devotes his time to his four children and their dog, Delta.

A Valencia College graduate with a strong background in sales, and customer service, Alex Rutland is a vital member of the NewSong Capital team, leading in customer experience. An exceptional customer liaison with a knack for building meaningful relationships, Alex provides NewSong’s customers with personal, real-time service that is in support of their financial goals and strategies. Outside of work, Alex enjoys being outdoors and can often be found fishing, surfing, or hitting the golf course.
